Wintery Cake Fun: Mountains and Moon Cake Toppers

Oh I do love the glitz, warmth and generosity of the winter holiday season! All of a sudden I'm craving snowy things, gold or silver sparkly things, evergreen and pine and the sound of beautiful old crooners singing magical songs. And of course, the season of joy wouldn't be complete without some beautiful baking. To celebrate the spirit of the holidays, here's a super cute and easy cake idea - billowy white whipped cream "snow" and the cutest and most simple mountains and moon cake toppers. I was inspired by this holiday cake for the snowy cream and contrast cake!


You will need: 

  • A single or double layer round cake - I made a dark chocolate cake for contrast. A gingerbread cake would work wonderfully, too!
  • Craft paper in blue, white and yellow. I made a pink cloud but opted not to include it in the final version but if you're feeling cloudy and pink, feel free to use it if you like.
  • Scissors
  • Gluestick
  • Wooden BBQ skewers
  • Scotch tape
