Rice crispy treats are one of those treats that never go out of style. I saw this recipe over at
Stephanie Cooks and wanted to make them immediately. However, at our house there has to be a party or something going on before I can make any kind of treat or my husband and I end up eating the whole pan. It's true. Last week we had a game night at our house with my siblings and a bunch of my cousins. There were a few in from out of town so we thought we'd better have a party. And parties mean treats! So I made these Cake Batter Crispy Treats and every last one of them was eaten. They taste similar to the original thing but with a hint of cake batter. They're really yummy!

Stephanie Cooks- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1 - 10 oz. bag of mini marshmallows
- 1/4 c. yellow cake mix
- 6 c. Rice Krispies cereal
- 2-3 Tbsp. sprinkles

First get everything all measured out and ready to rock and roll. This will make things much easier when you're doing all of the other steps so you can just throw everything in.

Melt the butter on low heat in a pot.

When the butter is melted, mix in the marshmallows and stir constantly until melted. You may want to bump up the heat a bit so you're not breaking your arm with all that stirring.

Once the marshmallows are all melted, spoon in the yellow cake mix one spoon at a time and stir well. Remove from the heat. Then stir in the rice krispies, stirring well until coated in the marshmallow mixture. Add the sprinkles and mix them all in.

Put the mixture in a greased 9x13 pan and flatten with your hand. This works better if you get your hand wet so the treats don't stick to you.

Top with more sprinkles if desired. But really this shouldn't be an option, sprinkles make everything better! And prettier. Allow the treats to sit for 30 minutes before serving. Store them in an airtight container.
