I ran across a couple simple DIY ideas on IKEA's Livet Hemma blog recently that I thought Poppytalk readers might be inspired by. Above a book page wall, which is a really nice example of one. I love the use of different page books versus using the same type. You could also just photocopy some if you found ones you really liked to make a sort of pattern I guess. If you are interested in trying one for yourself, click here for their simple instructions.
Also this this simple IVAR chair hack (see below) to customize and make it your own which I thought was rather clever. They've added color and natural twine to create a look which goes well with fall (and their PREMIAR motif picture background). Inspired by the blue autumn skies and leaves the look is finished using the twine (great for fall) ; the project is easy to do, durable and super easy to remove.
To make:
Use standard carpentry color, choose color and any gloss, here they have used the semi-gloss paint. Tape only the portions you do not want painted. Paint thinner then two coats in batches so you get a smooth and fine surface without dripping. Lace the entire back or back pins individually.
