So I've started my summer reading list early. Two of the books on my list are The Daily 5 and The Cafe Book. I've finished the first and am about half way done the latter. I would really like to incorporate the Daily 5 into my literacy block, but I think I need some help in setting it up. I will have a grade 5/6 class next year (currently have a 6/7 class). My literacy block is 100 minutes, and I'm required to have daily guided reading time. Does anybody have (or have seen) a successful Daily 5 program in the upper elementary grades?
