The American Craft Council Show is happening in San Francisco this weekend, August 14 – 16, along with the HandMade Nation screening with Faythe Levine. 250 artists from the Bay area and across the country will show handmade designs in home décor, furniture, fashion, jewelry and other objects – all made with love and some incredible technique. An ‘AltCraft’ category features work from indie artists: think shadow lanterns made from recycled food cans and jewelry made from miniature Japanese food collectibles. At a special ‘5 after 5’ event on Friday 8/14, revelers can check out handmade work from 250 artists, sip wine and meet Faythe Levine for just $5 between 5 and 8 p.m. Faythe will screen ‘HandMade Nation’ and offer her first-ever filmmaker Q&A in SF that evening at 8:30 p.m. She’ll also be on hand to chat and sign books at 6:30 p.m.
